It's been another awesome week! There's so much work to do here so we are staying nice and busy!
It's been another awesome week! There's so much work to do here so we are staying nice and busy!
I had my first official New Mexico enchilada. It's kind of a big deal here-- They are "stacked," so instead of rolling them, there's just layers of corn tortillas with the stuff in between... and green chili is super important here. You can get it on anything. And people take pride in their green chili. They also serve their enchiladas with an over easy fried egg on top. It was really good. So now I'm an official new mexican
We've had some super cool things happen this week! My favorite experience was when we were trying to find a house that didn't have a super specific address, so we were paying close attention and we noticed a girl crying on the side of the road. We both felt like we should talk to her.. so we pulled over and she was just so grateful because she needed a ride home... she had been having custody issues with her son and had taken the bus to go get him since her truck was in the shop that day, but she got kicked out and she couldn't get her son and there was no bus to take her home and her grandma just died that morning and she was just having a roughhhhh day. When she saw us, she said "I just barely started reading the bible and its amazing how God will place people on your path!" It was so sweet. Since we couldn't give her a ride, we called the senior missionaries to come get her, and while we waited for them, we just talked to her and started talking about the book of mormon and we were asking her what she believed in and she said that she's never really gone to church but lately she's been feeling like she should so we gave her a book of mormon and explained it a little and set up an appointment and yeah! I was so excited!
Audrie has been doing soooooo well and I love teaching her. Her baptism has been moved to the 15th but it's still coming up so fast!
And we finished all the lessons with Brother Quinn so we are just waiting for him to be sure about the decision of baptism. He fasted about it yesterday! It was his first time fasting! We sat by him in sacrament yesterday and during the sacrament he accidentally got a huge piece of bread so sister wagstaff whispered to him, "blessings of fasting"... it was really funny
But yeah! It's kind of funny because I'm pretty much the tallest girl in the mission and my companion is pretty much the shortest girl so it's kind of funny since we have an 11 inch height difference... but she's way cool and we grew up 5 minutes away from each other!
So yeah! I've really loved it here. I love helping people come to Christ! Its so cool! My testimony has grown soooooo much in the 2 weeks I've been out, it's insane! I am so so happy and I just love these people.
Thanks for all the support!
Love, sister chadwick:)
