Image
September 30, 2019 holy guacamole it's been a great week!! Okay I just gotta start with the most exciting news..... RYAN SET A BAP DATE!!!!!! Ryan is the son of a less active that got his mom to start coming to church, and he started taking the lessons a couple days after sister daly got here... and on his last lesson he set a baptism date!!!!! And its soooo exciting becuase this ward hasn't had a convert baptism in almost 4 YEARS!! And he's so so stoked to be baptized!! We are sooo excited!! Also we taught some kids this week and they were so excited to read "the book of normon" hahaha... we also made them "prayer bears" to put on their nightstand to remind them to pray... and they were sooo cute! they loved them!! It was just such a good week! There was one day that was super slow, then we totally ran into someone some other sisters found on the street by a total miracle and were able to teach her about the book of mormon and it wa

September, 23 2019 Hey hey hey! It has been a GREAT week! I am training sister daly from pleasant grove, utah!! (everyone always asks if we knew each other haha, but we unfortunately didnt haha)... We have had a BLAST this week! We get along sooooo well, we teach so well together, and she is so cool and so willing to work! We have seen so many miracles this week! The greenie fire is real & I love it!!! It was also kind of funny because her first meal here was soooo weird! We ate with a crazy lady in a super messy house who made us steamed gluten free chicken nuggets, half a pot of broccoli, and a raspberry smoothie... and she watched us eat as she told us conspiracy theories about president nelson joining the government to get rid of all the bad people.... it was just the most awkward meal ever but at least we didnt scare her off! But yeah! I'm seriously SO PUMPED for these next couple transfers! I am soooo excited to be with sister Daly and we got big plans to

I'm having a baby

September 16, 2019 Yooooooo!!! I'm having a baby!!! That's mission lingo for IM TRAINING!!! Tomorrow I'll pick up a new missionary from the mtc! I am sooooo excited! This week was CRAZY! I drove somewhere with my phone on the hood of the car (and it didnt fall off by literally the grace of God!), I spilled my in-n-out and got teased by every employee  , i got my glasses!!, someone thought I was pregnant (kind of ironic cuz I found out I was training that day) (also shes insane so I'm not thatttttt offended lol), I held someone's glass eye, part of my tooth fell out (the tooth fairy didnt come ☹), i went on exchanges! (with sis. adams from the mtc I loveee her!), we got our transfer cheese, we had zone sports and zone breakfast, and lotssss more!!!  On a more spirtualish note, we had a 9 & 11 year old tell us they want to be baptized, and we had a ton of people show up at church yesterday which was a total miracle!! I have been praying all week that

hikes and sisters and stuff

September 9. 2019 Hi hi hi! Wow so much has happened this week! I feel like a months worth of stuff has happened in one week so I will share some highlights! Today I woke up at 3am to go on a 7ish mile sunrise hike with some other missionaries and it was INCREDIBLE! It was such a fun hike and the view at the end was the bestttttt! There were a bunch of pools to hike to and stand in and it was the best!!  Also, this week we had SISTERS CONFRENECE!! It was seriously the best! I was just a one time thing our mission did with all the sisters in the whole mission and we just got tons of good tips and had tons of good times and ahhh it was just so good to see my friends!!  We also had some pretty cool miracles this week! We had some awesome spirit-filled lessons and we doubled our teaching pool! It wasnt that big since everyone dropped us, but still! We doubled it!! We are so excited!! Also I had an eye appointment this week and the doctor was seriously the nicest huma

The Italian from Tucson

September 2, 2019 Holy guacamole what a week!! I have so many stories I dont even know where to begin and i dont have nearly enough time to type all of them out!  So I'll just tell you about the Italians. On Saturday we had visited a bunch of John's by kind of a coincidence, so I decided we should visit one more john before dinner since we didnt have a dinner appointment and our schedule was kind of flexible for the next couple hours.... So I chose a john and it was way hard to find his house but we found it! And his mom kind of just slammed the door on us. But I knew there had to be a reason we went through all this work!  So we visited some of the nearby people, and did some tracting in the neighborhood but literally nothing was happening! So we went to the last house that we were going to try but then both felt like we should visit a different one!  So we were walking up and there were people on the porch who didnt look very excited to see us, but I could

August 26, 2019 Wow! Every day is just a new adventure!! Today we were about to go to the zoo, so we went to carpool with the sisters that live halfway between our place and the zoo, and when we went to their car, the window was completely smashed in and there was glass allll over the place! So we had to have the police and the forensics come... and apparently there were at least 7 car break-ins there that morning! It was crazy!  But! This week was super busy and dun! We had zone confrence, interviews, we took a girl leaving on a mission soon out with us for the day, we did a ton of service, we fed a baby goat, and just lots of fun stuff!! Also, the baby goats mom died giving birth, and its 2 siblings when to a different home... and they said "we named him Job becuase he lost everything"...   it was so sad but soooo funny haha My favorite quote of the week was president browning at zone confrence when he said "you fear no man and you fear no sunshine!&quo

The Earth is Flat

Image
August 19, 2019 Sooooo! It's been another exciting week in the dirty T!  We taught a guy named Walter this week, and we got about 10 minutes of gospel in there and an hour and a half of information about how the earth is flat! Apparently, theres 240 (super vague) scriptures about how the earth is flat, and a whole other page about why the earth is flat and gravity isn't actually real..... so we have been pretty entertained by this all week. He even printed us each our own copies! We also had a couple referrals this week which has been a total answer to our prayers! One of them was funny because he told us he probably wouldn't be able to join our church since we dont beleive in vaccines and he works at a hospital so hes required to get them... luckily we were able to clear that one up! And hes way excited to learn from us! Today we did some super fancy shirt painting at a members house, and she has all these cool stencil things for it! It was a lot of fun!

WELCOME to AZ

Image
August 12, 2019 Well I did it! I have been in the Arizona Tucson Mission for 6 months and I am finally in Arizona!!  Not, gonna lie, leaving Silver City was sooo hard, but I am really liking it here! I'm still in the boonies which makes me super happy!   One of the highlights this week was voulenteering at Catalina state park! We get to voulenteer there every week!! This week we shoveled and swept dry mud off of a road. It was hot, but fun! They have free canned water there! Also we got in-n-out after!!!   I'm also loving the people I've met. We have definitely ran into some weirdos so that has made me feel more at home. We also have some supppeeerrr awesome members here. One night at dinner, we were eating with the kindest family! At one point, we were talking about whether or not we knew who our families were before we came to earth and their son explained that we knew based on their constipation..... still not quite sure what he meant by that but it w

Cheese

Image
August 5, 2019 Sooo! After 6 months, I got me some cheese! I am going to North Tucson!! Its the Catalina/ San Manuel area and I have heard a ton of good things! Its kinnnnd of crazy becuase silver city is my home! And I'm totally going to miss everyone! And I have six months of stuff to pack   but I am pretty excited to start a new adventure! So today is a little crazy so I'm gonna keep it short, but we had Karen's baptism this weekend and it went so well! Her husband even came to church for her confirmation yesterday, and when she bore her testimony he started tearing up! It was definitely a milagro (miracle hehe)! And I want to share one last weird-people-in-silver-city story from this week- So we were volunteering at a food bank on Wednesday and an old guy came up behind me and said "I'm quite fond of tall women! You're sooo unique!" Soooo I turn around and I was like "uhhhhh thanks!..?" And then he started reading mine and my

6 months!!!

Image
August 5, 2019 Okay so tomorrow is officially my 6 month mark.. I seriously dont know how this even happened!! It has just flownnn by!! šŸ„©Anyways, we get our transfer cheese on Saturday and I'm basically guaranteed leaving so that's pretty sad. I just loveee silver city! BUT! it's okay! Becuase bishop McDonald gave me a farewell meal of sorts yesterday! He invited us and the elders over for the best of the best 24 oz. steaks. And they're cattle farmers. So they know their steak... It was pretty amazing!  So monsoon season is here!! We have had 7 straight days with rain! Tuesday was especially rainy... you couldn't even see the car infront of you and the roads were basically rivers! It was really cool though. I was supppper happy about the rain :) We also had to say goodbye to Denise, our Toyota Tacoma. We were pretty sad, but we got a 2019 Chevy equinox and lemme tell ya... its reallllllly nice. We have been enjoying it a little too much.  And! We

I Found True Happiness

July 22, 2019 It was truly one of the best weeks yet!! Lots and lots of fun stuff happened! But! The absolute HIGHLIGHT was getting to do baptisms for the dead on thursday with brother quinn. Sister quinn has been doing a lot of family history and was able to get a bunch of family names... so brother quinn was dunked 14 times for the men of his family! You should have seen the smile on his face when they read the names of the people he knew personally and loved so much.  Then, he got to baptize his wife and us for the women in his family! Sister quinn went first, and after a couple names, brother quinn stopped, looked up at us, and said, "these people are really here aren't they"... so we were basically sobbing with pure joy. It was incredible. He could feel them, we could feel them, and so could everyone in that room  We also got to be confirmed for the same people we were baptized for, then we got special permission to do endowments that day as well! So I got
